Toms River Man Killed In Vermont Snowboarding Accident

Breaking: The man was snowboarding with friends, according to reports.

KILLINGTON, VT — A Toms River man has been identified as the person who died Saturday in a snowboarding accident at a Vermont ski resort.

James Meyers, 26, was snowboarding with friends at Killington Mountain when he went off the trail they were on and hit a tree, according to a news release from the Vermont State Police.

Meyers was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, which was reported to police at 10:25 a.m. Saturday, Detective Trooper Erin Hodges said.

Meyers was rushed to Rutland Regional Medical Center by the Regional Ambulance Service, Hodges said, where he died from his injuries.
