Toms River Man Pleads Guilty To Cocaine Charges

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River man pleaded guilty Tuesday to a cocaine possession charge in a 2018 incident, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced.
Jarian Adams, 40, of Toms River, pleaded guilty to possession of more than a half-ounce of cocaine with intent to distribute before Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. As part of the plea agreement, Adams is to be sentenced to eight years in prison with four years of parole ineligibility.
Adams was pulled over by police in Barnegat on July 20, 2018, after he committed various motor vehicle infractions, the prosecutor's office said. During the course of the stop, officers found a significant amount of cocaine that was indicative of distribution purposes.

Adams also pleaded guilty to unrelated charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of oxycodone without a valid prescription. Billhimer said three-year sentences to run concurrently with the other charge will be sought.
Billhimer thanked Assistant Prosecutor Kimberly Carr, Barnegat Township police and detectives, Toms River police and the department's Special Enforcement Team, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit for their work.
