Toms River Man Struck, Killed On Fischer Boulevard: Police
Authorities say Richard Bococinski, 37, died at a hospital later; the driver said he had no chance to swerve to avoid him. Breaking.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River man was killed Tuesday evening when he was hit by a car on Fischer Boulevard, Toms River police said Wednesday.
Richard Bococinski, 37, of Fairview Drive, was hit about 5 p.m. by a 2003 Mercury driven by Michael Ferone, 47, of Shenandoah Boulevard, said Ralph Stocco, spokesman for the Toms River Police Department.
Ferone was driving north in the right lane of Fischer Boulevard and hit Bococinski as he stepped into the road, Stocco said. Bococinski was taken to a hospital where he died later in the evening, Stocco said.

Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, said Bococinski was not in a crosswalk. Ferone told investigators he had no chance to swerve out of the way, Stocco said.
The crash is under investigation by Toms River Traffic Officer Mark Nater and Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Detective Brad Frank. The scene was processed by members of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department C.S.I Division, Stocco said.
