Toms River Memorial Day Parade Honors Military Sacrifice

The Toms River Memorial Day parade includes a remembrance ceremony at Town Hall on Washington Street.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The annual Toms River Memorial Day parade is set for Monday, May 27 in downtown Toms River.

Sponsored by the George P. Vanderveer American Legion Post 129, the parade will begin at Highland Parkway, travel south on Main Street and then east on Washington Street to Town Hall, where a service will be held on the steps facing Washington Street.

Parade participants will gather in the parking lot at the Office Lounge and march, rain or shine, with the parade scheduled to step off at 9:30 a.m.

After the Memorial Day service at Toms River town hall, walk down to Mathis Park in South Toms River for the annual Memorial Day remembrance for U.S. Navy personnel who died aboard submarines that went to sea and never returned. That service, by the Jersey Shore Base Submarine Veterans, begins at 11 a.m.
