UPDATE: Authorities Seeking Car, Witnesses In Fatal Route 70 Hit-And-Run In Toms River
Breaking: The prosecutor's office released photos of car like the one that left the accident scene on Route 70 at the Route 9 overpass.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — (UPDATE, 11 a.m.) A Toms River man was killed late Tuesday night, and authorities are seeking the public's help in locating the car struck him and left the scene.
The man, identified as a 34-year-old resident of Dover Woods, was hit by multiple vehicles in the incident shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said in a joint release Wednesday from Toms River police and the Ocean County prosecutor's office.
The man was hit on Route 70 by a car identified as a cobalt blue 2014 to 2016 Infiniti Q50, authorities said. The car was westbound on Route 70 and hit the man in the center lane at the Route 9 overpass and did not stop, authorities said.

Two other vehicles hit the man but stopped at the scene to try to help him, authorities said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:30 p.m., they said.
No witnesses to the initial impact were identified at the scene, authorities said.

The Infiniti is believed to have sustained heavy front end damage; a plastic piece of a front bumper approximately 16 inches by 16 inches was located at the scene, authorities said.

Toms River police, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the Ocean County Sheriff's Crime Scene Investigation units all responded to the incident, authorities said.
