Toms River Police Department Phones 'Experiencing Issues'

Authorities ask that people do not call the Toms River Police Department with items that are not emergencies until the problem is fixed.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Police Department is experiencing problems with its telephone system Friday, officials said.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Department issued an alert about the issues, and urged people to not call Toms River police with items that were not of an emergency nature until further notice.

Toms River police in a post on the department's Facebook page said those with emergencies should call 911.
