Toms River Police Warn About Scam Merchandise Links On Facebook
The police department says it has been battling an influx of scam links posted to its Facebook page.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — The posts have been popping up all over, people claiming to sell merchandise with "Toms River Police" logos, appearing to be legitimate.
They are not, Toms River police said in a post on the department's Facebook page on Tuesday.
"Do not click on any links in the comment section of our posts," police said in the post warning about the scam links.

"We are actively working with Meta to resolve the issues with spam links. Unfortunately this type of spam is not exclusive to our agency," the post said.
