WATCH: Toms River Preschoolers Sing National Anthem At BlueClaws Game

The Goddard School students performed for the third straight year.

For the third straight year, preschool students at The Goddard School have gotten to spend a little time in the spotlight at a Lakewood BlueClaws game.

The group of about 50 children and 20 staff members of the school in Toms River practiced for months -- check out the video below -- before they stepped onto the infield at the BlueClaws’ stadium Sunday.

The children from The Goddard School have been to the BlueClaws’ games for three years and sung each time, according to a post on the Patch from the school.

They took the field before the start of the game Sunday against the Hickory Crawdads from North Carolina.

The Goddard School offers education for kids ranging in age from 6 weeks to 6 years old, and the students performing the national anthem covered that age range.

The school reached out to the team to attend a game in 2013, then they were asked to perform the national anthem on the first game weekend of June each year, Lauren Pfluger, the director of The Goddard School, told NJ.com.

She said the kids are looking forward to being at the game together and eating snacks after they sing on the field. Last year, the group was escorted to the locker room where the kids got high-fives from the players.
