The list, which includes both newcomers like Tio Juan's and more established restaurants, covers a wide range of tastes, from barbecue and steaks to a farm-to-table restaurant that serves wild boar.

The writer calls Tio Juan's "an oasis of Mexican excellence in Ocean County" and praises the flavors and freshness of the food. "If you still have room, the churros and ice cream is a can't-miss," the writer says.

Tio Juan's is located at 270 Route 37 West in Toms River.
