Toms River Seniors Invited To Health Fair, Barbecue
The event includes health screenings, information and entertainment; bring your unneeded prescription for safe disposal by police.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Senior Center will be hosting a health fair and barbecue for seniors age 60 and older and their caregivers.
The health fair, co-sponsored by the Toms River Senior Center and the Toms River Municipal Alliance, will be held at the Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 24 at the Senior Center, 652 Garfield Ave.
The event is free; all guests must register at the door.

The event will include more than 30 health care and social service providers offering free services, health screenings, information, and giveaways.
The Toms River Police Department will be collecting unused and expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications for safe disposal by local authorities.

RWJ Barnabas Health/Community Medical and Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Ocean County Department of Senior Services, Community Services/Meals on Wheels, and many more agencies will have exhibits and information.
There will be a free outdoor barbecue picnic and live entertainment at lunch time on the lawn outside the Center. There will be tents, tables, and seating available but guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. When the parking lot is full, guests may park at the Little League parking lot on nearby Windsor Avenue. A shuttle van will transport guests to and from their vehicles parked here.
The health fair is held in part with funding from the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and will be staffed by members of the center's advisory board as well as peer leaders from Toms River High Schools North and East.
