TOMS RIVER, NJ — The United States is experiencing a disruption in the supply chain and that likely will affect your online holiday shopping plans. But why worry about the supply chain disruption when you can shop locally at your convenience?

Even if you're visiting family in Toms River for the Thanksgiving holiday, you can do some local retail therapy. Show your support for local businesses and get a head start on your holiday list.

Corinne Jewelers: There's nothing like a little bling, and you're sure to find just the right bling for the holidays at this family-owned store on Route 166 just north of Route 37 that has been operating for nearly 60 years.

Downtown Dance Academy: Don't want to give "stuff"? Give the gift of dance lessons to a child, and give them the gift of the joy of movement, self-esteem, fitness, and a lifelong love of dance. The studio is at 1204 Hooper Ave.

East Coast Escape Room: Pick up a gift certificate for a group puzzle-solving adventure. It's a great way to plan a night out. The game room is at 1747 Hooper Ave., Unit 7.

Mathis House: The Victorian Tea House at 600 Main St. offers events year-round, and some of those events include artists and crafters selling their wares. Or, pick up a gift certificate for a future event.

Pilates by the Bay: Yoga and Pilates classes at the largest center in the area, which has been in business for eight years. Pick up a gift certificate for your family member who's talked about joining, at 1403 Route 37 east.

Coastline Pilates: Give the gift of helping someone get stronger through exercise with the gift of sessions at this Pilates studio at 1240 Route 166.

Quinteros Jewelers: Family owned, this jeweler offers custom items and unusual pieces. Check them out at 1220 Route 166.

The Downtown Shops @53 Main: If you're looking to help businesses that are getting off the ground, check out the Downtown Shops. The current stores are Craft & Carry Custom, Drips & Kicks, and The Style Jackpot. Also housed at the Downtown Shops is TRAC, the Toms River Artist Community. If you're looking for artwork, check them out.
