Toms River South Alum McLelland Notches First Collegiate Goal

The Kutztown freshman scores in the Golden Bears' 2-1 victory.

KUTZTOWN, PA — Madison McLelland, a graduate of Toms River South, notched her first collegiate goal on Wednesday, helping the Kutztown women's soccer team to a comeback 2-1 victory over Lock Haven, according to the Kutztown athletic department.

McLelland, a midfielder/defender, scored the tying goal with just 13:37 left on the Golden Bears' third shot on net. The rookie pounced on a loose ball just outside of the box, took one dribble and unleashed a rocket into the upper right hand corner to make the score 1-1.

McLelland was a two-time Toms River South Defender of the Year who also earned first team all-Ocean County honors and intends to major in business administration.
