Toms River Trash, Recycling Schedules Shift Due To Memorial Day
The trash and recycling collections shift to the summer schedule for the barrier island this week, officials said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Memorial Day weekend brings changes in trash and recycling schedules as well as the closure of township offices, Toms River officials announced.
The township's Department of Public Works will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29. There will be no sanitation and recycling collections and the Recycling Convenience Center will be closed, officials said.
All sanitation collections are postponed one day, with Friday’s sanitation collections picked up on Saturday.
Extra recycling pickups which are normally performed on a Friday are cancelled for this week only due to the holiday.

For residents on the barrier island, a reminder that garbage day changes this week to Monday and Thursday, and recycling day for barrier island residences is now every Friday. Collection days return to the winter schedule Labor Day week.
Town Hall will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. Offices re-open at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30. officials said.
