Town Hall On Law Enforcement Set At Ocean County College

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced the candid conversation on law enforcement in the wake of the death of Tyre Nichols.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A community discussion on law enforcement in the wake of the death of Tyre Nichols is being held at Ocean County College on Friday morning, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced.

The Town Hall Community Dialogue begins at 10 a.m. in the Gateway Lecture Hall in the Gateway Building at the college, on College Drive in Toms River.

Law enforcement officials from all over Ocean County will be participating in the event, which is scheduled to run until noon and is open to everyone, the prosecutor's office said.

Nichols, an aspiring photographer, was pulled over near his home on Jan. 7, but not charged with a crime. He died three days after being beaten by Memphis police officers, officials say. The five officers face second-degree murder charges.
