Trenton Diocese Lists Parishes For Priests Accused Of Sex Abuse

The Diocese of Trenton has released information on parish assignments for 30 priests it named as having been "credible accused" of sexual abuse of minors, as the Catholic Church of New Jersey tries to help victims heal amid continuing revelations and allegations.

The Catholic Church began releasing the information on Wednesday, with four of the state's five dioceses releasing parish assignments that day. The Trenton diocese at first released only names, birth and ordination dates, and whether the priest had died or was removed from the ministry.

The updated Trenton list dated Friday, Feb. 15, includes not only assignments but notes whether it was one or multiple victims; 19 of the Trenton diocese priests had more than one victim, according to the list.

Overall, nearly 200 members of the clergy with ties to New Jersey who have faced allegations of child sex abuse have been named. Nearly all of them were either sanctioned by the church, charged with a crime or both. Read more: Here's List Of NJ Priests Accused Of Child Sexual Abuse (UPDATED)

The updated information notes some had reached high levels in the Trenton diocese, including one who served as chancellor of the diocese and one who was assigned to the Vatican.
