United Way of Ocean County's 2015 Spring Food Drive Underway

To best serve residents in need, local charity is accepting donations throughout April for their participating pantries.

The United Way of Ocean County is holding a food drive throughout the month of April. By collecting nonperishable food items, the local organization is looking to replenish its pantries for the residents of Ocean County who are in need.

Since 1969, UWOC has dedicated their efforts to provide leadership, and help Ocean county residents become independent. By working with community leaders and experts to understand the issues in each community, the organization creates a network of programs to address each points, and helps to fund and support them thereafter.

“As the supply from the holiday food drives dwindle, food pantries are seeing empty shelves,” explained Linda Gyimoty, Executive Director of UWOC. “We need to replenish our food pantries and I know that the community will continue to support our neighbors in need.”
