VA Clinic Groundbreaking Set In Toms River: Monday Manual
The long-sought, long-awaited state-of-the-art veterans clinic for Ocean County is set to begin construction.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Welcome to the May 16 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight events coming up during the week in Toms River.
The week begins with the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Veterans Administration community health care clinic at the property on Hooper Avenue. The event is set for 11 a.m. Monday, and is the culmination of years of work to bring a new VA clinic to Ocean County.
The new 68,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility is anticipated to be completed and open in the spring of 2024, VA officials said.

The clinic, at 1051 Hooper Ave., near the intersection with Caudina Avenue, is expected to serve the thousands of veterans in Ocean and Monmouth counties along with South Jersey.
In addition to VA officials, U.S. Reps. Chris Smith and Andy Kim, Toms River Mayor Maurice Hill and others are expected to be in attendance.

Toms River Regional School Board meets
The Toms River Regional Board of Education is scheduled to meet Wednesday in the auditorium at Toms River High School North. The public portion of the meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. The agenda will be posted to the school district's website before the meeting.
Planning Board Meeting
The Planning Board has a meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at town hall. The agenda had not yet been posted as of Friday evening.
Voter registration deadline
If you are planning to vote in the primary election on June 7, you have until close of business on Tuesday to register to vote. You can register online, or in person; check with the Ocean County Clerk's office.
Toms River Artist Community Celebrates Spring
The Toms River Artist Community will celebrate spring with an arts and crafts show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Toms River Seaport. The historic Seaport Museum/gift shop will be open Local artist and crafters will fill the grounds of the Seaport with handmade original pieces of art of all kinds and local crafters are expected to join.
