2024 Voter Registration Deadline Near: Where To Register In Ocean County
The 2024 General Election is just over three weeks away. Check your voter registration or get registered to cast your ballot on Nov. 5.
OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — If you are planning to vote in the 2024 General Election on Nov. 5, you must be registered to vote.
Tuesday, Oct. 15 is the deadline to do so in New Jersey.

If you are not registered, you can do so online with your New Jersey driver's license, or your New Jersey non-driver ID card. The online registration process is explained on the state website.
You also can register in person through Tuesday. Please call the Ocean County Board of Elections at 732-929-2167 for info or assistance.

To register in New Jersey, you must be:
- A United States citizen
- At least 17 years old, though you may not vote until you have reached the age of 18
- A resident of the county for 30 days before the election
- A person not serving a sentence of incarceration as the result of a conviction of any indictable offense under the laws of this or another state or of the United States.
Forms can be taken to the Ocean County Board of Elections office at 129 Hooper Ave., Toms River. It will be open from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Board of Elections said.
The municipal clerk's offices in four towns will have evening hours on Tuesday as well:
- Berkeley Township, 627 Pinewald Keswick Road, Bayville, 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Brick Township, 401 Chambers Bridge Road, Brick, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Point Pleasant Beach, 416 New Jersey Ave., 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Stafford Township, 260 East Bay Ave., Manahawkin, 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
Other upcoming key dates
- Early voting: Oct. 26-Nov. 3; Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot by mail: Tuesday, Oct. 29. Mail-In Ballot Application
- Deadline for in-person applications for a mail-in ballot: Nov. 4 by 3 p.m.
- Where can I drop off my ballot? See Ocean County ballot drop-box locations. Ballots must be deposited in the dropbox by 8 p.m. Nov. 5
- Mailing it? Ballots must be postmarked by 8 p.m. Nov. 5 and received by the Board of Elections by Nov. 11
- Where can I vote in person? Find your polling location online; it also will be on your sample ballot. Polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 5.
