Want To Prepay Your 2018 Toms River Property Taxes? Here's Info
The tax reform bill signed into law limits the property tax deduction to $10,000; many are hoping to maximize their 2017 deduction.

TOMS RIVER, NJ -- If you are considering prepaying your 2018 property taxes, the Toms River Township Tax Collector's Office says time is running out to do so.
As a result of the tax bill signed into law last week that changes the tax code, the deduction for state and local taxes -- including property taxes -- is now limited to $10,000. As a result, many people are seeking to prepay their 2018 property taxes to maximize their state and local tax deduction for 2017.
Payment would need to be received in the tax collector's office either in person or by way of mail by 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, said Pamela Meagher, the township's deputy tax collector.
