Watch Dad's Light-Hearted Take On Storm's Flooding In Toms River

Gregory Andrus was faced with a problem as he brought his son home from school: too much water to drive through. Watch his response.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — While the flooded streets in the back bay areas made some folks nervous on Monday, at least one Toms River resident took the water in stride.

Gregory Andrus, the man behind the Portraits of the Jersey Shore page on Facebook, recorded video while he was getting his son home from school on Monday afternoon.

A combination of Monday's heavy rain, southeast wind driving the water in toward the mainland and high tide pushed water into many low-lying areas in Brick and Toms River.

Andrus doesn't let it get him down.

"We were looking at this house and thought it's so pretty, it's right near a creek, we can go to the creek and go kayaking," Andrus says in the video. "But we don't need to go to the creek because the creek will come to us!"

His upbeat reaction to the water in the street certainly made me smile, and I hope it makes you smile too.
