Water Street Closed In Toms River Due To Oil Spill
Breaking: Authorities are asking motorists to avoid the area while the spill is cleaned up.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — If you have to travel in and through downtown Toms River Tuesday morning, expect delays and detours.
The Ocean County Sheriff's office issued an alert saying Water Street is closed from Main Street to Hooper Avenue due to an oil spill.
Toms River Police Department spokesman Ralph Stocco said the spill came from a truck that was leaked fuel as it traveled south on Hooper Avenue from Washington Street and turned onto Water Street going west.

The alert does not give an estimate of how long the road will be closed; Stocco said authorities are awaiting a sand truck to clean up the spill and a tow truck to remove the leaking vehicle.
