WEATHER ALERT: Hour-By-Hour Forecast For Toms River Of Coming Snowstorm
A winter weather warning has been issued beginning at 11 tonight and continuing through 7 p.m. Thursday.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but yes, there’s more snow on the way.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather warning for Toms River and the surrounding area beginning at 11 p.m. Wednesday through 7 p.m. Thursday, warning of hazardous conditions and calling for up to 8 inches of new snow.
The service’s Mount Holly office is calling for light rain most of today, with a total of about an inch expected to fall. But late tonight, as temperatures fall from a peak of about 45 degrees, that will change over to sleet, and then to snow very quickly. There could be as much an inch of snow on the ground by daybreak on Thursday, with heavier snow starting to fall during the morning commute. That will make the job of clearing it that much more challenging for public works crews, which will have to contend with traffic of morning commuters while they clear the roads.
