Weigh In On Toms River Bike-Pedestrian Plan At Food Fest Saturday
The township is working on a plan with the state to improve its bicycle and pedestrian access on the mainland.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Toms River will be seeking public input on its efforts to develop a bicycle and pedestrian plan this week at the Toms River Food Fest on Saturday, May 4, township officials announced.
The state Department of Transportation and the township will have a Public Information Center for the community to learn more about the recommendations to improve the walking and bicycling conditions at the Food Fest from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The purpose of the Public Information Center is to present findings and recommendations and to solicit input and comments about the plan. The PIC will be held during the Toms River Food Fest and will provide an overview of the project including existing conditions, opportunities and constraints, outreach summary, vision and goals, and recommendations.

There will be no formal presentation. Members of the Steering Committee and Project Team will be available to describe the Plan and answer questions. Once completed, this plan will comprehensively identify opportunities to create, enhance, and expand walking
and bicycling facilities throughout the township – as well as outline recommendations for the township to implement future transportation investments.
The bicycle and pedestrian plan is expected to be completed in July 2019. The plan is being developed and funded through the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s Local Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning Assistance Program.
