TOMS RIVER, NJ — Chances are you've heard of Huddy Park in downtown Toms River. But do you know why it was named for Joshua Huddy?
Learn about the American patriot who was hanged by the British in 1782 following the Battle of the Blockhouse next week during a presentation at the Toms River branch of the Ocean County Library.
The event will held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23. Ocean County College professor Steve Baeli will discuss the events that led to the murder of Joshua Huddy.

Huddy Park, which has undergone extensive renovations, will be reopened on June 24 during festivities for the 250th anniversary of the founding of Toms River.
