Work Underway To Replace Huddy Park Gazebo In Toms River
The triple gazebo was damaged during Tropical Storm Isaias in August 2020.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Work has begun on replacing the gazebo at Huddy Park that was damaged during a tropical storm in 2020.
The Toms River Township Council approved a contract with A&M Plumbing & Heating for demolition of the gazebo masonry and reconstruction at Huddy Park for $166,000 at the Aug. 24 council meeting.
Work at the site was underway this week.

The council in February approved the purchase of steel pavilions to replace the triple gazebo at Huddy Park from Cedar Forest Products through the Houston-Galveston Area Council's cooperative purchasing system, with a maximum contract amount of $213,248.38.
The timeframe on full restoration was not immediately available.

The main gazebo collapsed in early November 2020 after Tropical Storm Isaias damaged the 25-year-old structure, which was fitted with steel roofs in 2017.
The town has been seeing insurance compensation for the replacement work.
