SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — Tamara "Sunny" Sytch, the WWE Hall of Famer who redefined the role of women in professional wrestling, was arrested in Seaside Heights on Saturday, charged with driving while intoxicated after she ran a stop sign and drove the wrong way down a one-way street, borough police said.
The arrest is the sixth DWI charge since 2015 for the 46-year-old, TMZ Sports reported.
Sytch, who currently lives in the Belford section of Middletown, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday when the borough was being heavily patrolled following the Polar Bear Plunge.

Detective Steve Korman said Patrolman Christopher Linnell and Ocean County Sheriff's Officer Kevin Fennessy pulled the former WWE star over on Dupont Avenue after she ran a stop sign and drove the wrong way down a one-way street. Once stopped, Linnell found she was driving with an open container of alcohol and was intoxicated, Korman said. She also was driving with a suspended license.
Sytch received summonses for having an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and reckless driving from Linnell and summonses for failure to stop at a stop sign, wrong way on a one-way street, having a suspended driver's license and careless driving from Fennessy, Korman said.

Sytch had outstanding traffic warrants from Holmdel for $1,500 and from Knowlton, NJ, for $1,000. She was released from the Seaside Heights Police Department to the custody of Holmdel police, and currently is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institute in connection with the Holmdel warrant, according to online records.
Pro Wrestling Insider reported an arrest warrant had been issued for Sytch in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, in connection with failing to complete a payment plan to reimburse the State of Pennsylvania for their costs in her legal cases. She was arrested three times in Pennsylvania on DWI charges in May and June 2015 and pled guilty in at least one case, the site reported.
She then was arrested Jan. 23, 2018, and Feb. 2, 2018, the latter after hitting a car in Aberdeen and leaving the scene of the accident, PW Insider reported. She was charged with driving under the influence in both cases, the report said. The outlet said she also has past arrests on charges of burglary and crimes related to domestic violence dating back to 2012.
Sytch wrestled in the WWE and World Championship Wrestling under the stage name Sunny in the 1990s and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011, according to her profile on the WWE website.
