2 Mail Drop Boxes Burglarized In Bloomingdale

Anyone who dropped sensitive mail in the boxes should contact Bloomingdale police.

BLOOMINGDALE, NJ — If you dropped something in one of two Bloomingdale mail drop boxes recently, your letter might have been stolen, Bloomingdale police warn.

Two outdoor United States Post Office mail drop boxes were burglarized in the Borough recently: at the intersection of Knolls Road and Forest Drive, and at 126 Main Street (Bloomingdale Post Office). Anyone who dropped off mail after 5 p.m. on Monday could be affected, police say.

Anyone who sent sensitive information, like checks or other financial records, should contact police. Police are also looking for anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area.

"Be mindful that if any check/bank information or social security information was enclosed in your mail and dropped off at these two locations, you may want to contact those respective agencies to report the matter," police said.
