Boswell And Ospina Sell 92-Acre Mt. Saint Francis Estate In Ringwood For $6.4 Million
Sale of estate set on 92 sprawling acres among the Ramapo Mountains

RINGWOOD, N.J. – (April 7, 2015) – William “Bill” Boswell and Gina Ospina, sales associates affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Wyckoff/Franklin Lakes, recently completed the $6.4 million sale of Mt. Saint Francis, a stone manor set on 92 sprawling acres among the Ramapo Mountains in Ringwood Township that for 80 years was the home and inspirational center of ministry for the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia.
Mt. Saint Francis was sold to American Addiction Centers, which plans to utilize the estate as a treatment facility. “Mt. Saint Francis is a stunning property with incredible historical value. We were happy to be chosen to market this important listing,” said Boswell. “It’s nice to see that the legacy of service inherent in this property will continue.”
According to Boswell and Ospina, part of their strategy in marketing Mt. Saint Francis was to list it concurrently as both a commercial property and as a primary residence. “It was important to open up this estate to both possibilities,” said Ospina. “It could easily have worked as either a luxurious private residence or a business facility set in a beautiful locale.”

This partially wooded property with rolling topography is situated within a district protected by the New Jersey Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act, which made high-density construction unlikely. At the heart of the property is a three-story, Gothic-style stone manor, originally constructed circa 1890 as a grand estate and personal residence. The original interior includes gold finishes, copper trimming, stained glass windows, grand archways, stately doors, and decorative woodwork. The spacious manor features 25 rooms spanning approximately 27,000 square feet.
Other major buildings on the property include two smaller houses, two residence halls and a conference center. The surrounding acreage is resplendent with well-manicured open fields, tranquil sitting areas, stone patios and circular driveways. Recreational opportunities include an Olympic-size swimming pool and accompanying pool house. The grounds also feature a pond and outfall stream. Surrounding the property are the Ringwood Manor, Skylands Manor and Ringwood Botanical Gardens.
