Butler Family Restaurant: 'Where Friends and Family Meet To Eat'

Butler Family Restaurant & Diner prides itself on treating every customer like family.

, located at 134 Main Street, is going on 10 years serving the community. Owner Angelo Triantafilos, along with his family and staff, see their customers each as friends and family.

That is one thing I noticed as I sat looking the menu. Most people who were seated around my guest and I grazed the menu, but knew the waiters and waitresses by name and I noticed the waitress already knowing what some customers were going to order before they spoke a word. Obviously there is a loyal customer base that keeps this diner moving strong.

This is the sixth diner Triantafilos and his family have owned. "This is the best out of all the places. I like this location the most," he said. "I love my customers, they are really good people, terrific friends. My customers are very loyal." Triantafilos is happy with business and plans on retiring at this location, he said.

The diner has running specials that are on the table called "Wallet Saver Specials" which are updated every month or so. There were four entrees to choose from on this special menu, and they each include soup or salad for $9.49 total each Monday through Thursday.

I was feeling a bit under the weather on this particular evening and was craving a good comfort meal. I went with the Soup of the Day, which happened to be Chicken Noodle Soup, and I also ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. My guest went with the Beef Gyro, which was served with a Greek salad and a stuffed grape leaf. We shared the Loaded Fries as an appetizer.

The fries were served piping hot, with melted American Cheese across the top and real bacon crumbled throughout. The fries were delicious, cooked perfectly with an abundance of bacon, but I prefer the cheese to be melted throughout.

The Chicken Noodle soup, I immediately noticed, was homemade and made me feel better with every bite. Don't tell mom, but it is just like hers! The grilled cheese sandwich hit the spot and was perfectly cooked and served hot. My guest was very happy with the Gyro dish and enjoyed the stuffed grape leaf the most.

What was even better next to having great food was that the prices were very affordable. The diner is clean and apparently always decorated for the next holiday.

Every single item on the menu is homemade, from the soups, to the dishes, to the desserts. Butler Family Restaurant & Diner also serves a variety of ethnic dishes ranging from Mexican, Greek and Italian, and also has a fabulous breakfast menu.

They are open seven days a week. Hours are Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday from 6 a.m to 9 p.m.
