Butler Officials Put Out Brush Fire

Cause of fire still being investigated.

and responded to a brush fire between Notchwood Road and Brown Avenue at 3:11 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to police, the cause of the fire, which occurred in a small wooded area near several residences, is still under investigation. Police Capt. Ciro Chimento, Acting Lt. Michael Moeller, Sgt. Joseph Natale and Ptl. Richard Stoll responded to the scene, where Fire Chief Jim Neill said further assistance would be needed. Police said the responded as well and the fire was controlled in a short amount of time.

Police said Notchwood Road was closed for about 45 minutes and that no injuries were reported as a results of the brush fire. The New Jersey State Forrest Fire Service also responded.
