Butler Police Hand Out Christmas Gifts To Random Citizens

The random acts of kindness are their way of returning the favor, Chief Chimento said.

BUTLER, NJ— On Christmas Eve, Butler Police recognized citizens who took the time to recognize them, by handing out scratch-off lottery tickets to those who stopped to say hello.

The annual Butler Police Holiday Detail is officer run and coordinated, and all lottery tickets are donated by police officers.

"The event does not cost the taxpayers one red cent, and is our way in returning the favor to the community who supported the police during this especially difficult year," Chief Ciro Chimento told Patch.
