Butler Students Return To School Thursday

BUTLER, NJ — The first school bell is about to ring in Butler, but students will ease into the new year with two shortened days.

Butler Public Schools will welcome students back Thursday after teachers spend Tuesday and Wednesday preparing for the 2026-27 academic year. Both Thursday and Friday will be early-dismissal days, according to the district calendar.

Just as students begin settling into their new classrooms, the schedule pauses again. Schools will be closed Monday for Labor Day before reopening Tuesday for the first full week of classes.
