Community Spirit Drives NewBridge Thanksgiving Feast for Seniors and People with Mental Illness
A Riverdale business was among three companies to sponsor the Nov. 23 event at the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains
Senior citizens and people with mental illness enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings at NewBridge Services’ annual celebration on Nov. 23.
For client Steven Henry, the gathering at the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains in Pequannock Township meant “togetherness, and a being with each other as a family,” he said.
For many, the NewBridge gathering was their only Thanksgiving celebration. The more than 100 people who attended enjoyed turkey, stuffing, cranberry relish, mashed potatoes and pies.

“We give thanks for the strides our clients are making in their recovery, and for all that is good in our lives,’’ NewBridge CEO Robert L. Parker said.
Parker thanked the three event sponsors, Century 21 Crest Real Estate in Pompton Plains, Carl Stahl Sava Industries, Inc. in Riverdale, and JCP&L. Not only did they fund the meal, their employees served the meal.
