Family Promise of Passaic County, a non-profit, provides food and lodging to local families who are in need of help.
A new non-profit is working to help Passaic County residents by providing them with lodging and meals.
Family Promise of Passaic County, a ministry of the Interfatih Hospitality Network, is composed of volunteers from various houses of worship. , , and are some of the host sites.
Families from each congregation provide lodging for three to five families and three meals a day four times a year for a week at a time. Volunteers cook, serve meals, help guests find permanent homes, and even help children with their homework.

Each house of worship provides families with daycare for young children and a place where attendees can look for employment if it is needed. Members transport participants to and form the house of worship to the host family’s home.
A special shopping event to help the group will be held this month.

On Aug. 25, those who purchase a $5 savings pass will save 25 percent on most items in the store, 10 percent on others.
The $5 will be donated to Family Promise. Passes must be purchased in advance.
