Don't Text and Drive, Kinnelon Mayor Says

Kinnelon Mayor Robert Collins wants people to put their phones down and stay safe.

Kinnelon Mayor Robert Collins has a message for residents: don’t text and drive.

Collins asked police Chief John Finkle at the Aug. 15 council meeting to look into Nikki’s Law, NorthJersey.com reported.

The law is named after Nikki Kellenyi, an 18-year-old was died in a car accident last year. She was in the backseat of a car that collided with a truck while at an intersection in Washington Township in Gloucester Township. The teenager driver of the vehicle Kellenyi was in may have been using a cell phone while driving.
