Chinese Culture

This will be the Year of the Dragon, which is a good time to revisit traditional Chinese culture, its myths and legends on Sunday, May 20 @ 3:00pm. For 5,000 years, Chinese culture was heralded as a divine gift. Its values of benevolence, honor, etiquette, wisdom, and sincerity have inspired countless artists and poets. The presentation will focus on Chinese history and a brief overview of key dynasties, on classic stories and fascinating characters from Chinese literature, and on classical Chinese dance (Shen Yun) and Chinese musical instruments.  It will explain how Shen Yun uses dance to express Chinese civilization and its values.  Program is free.
