Kinnelon Police, Bloomingdale Fire Rescue Deer Trapped On Ice: Watch Here
The video of the mid-ice deer rescue shows two firefighters in the act.
KINNELON, NJ— Oh, deer: Kinnelon Police and Bloomingdale Fire had to work to rescue a deer who stranded itself in the middle of an iced-over pond.
The deer made it about 25 yards into the Boonton Reservoir before getting stuck on the ice. Kinnelon Police first responded, calling Bloomingdale Fire for help.
Thankfully, Lt. Mike Wanklin and firefighter Anthony Catalano of the Bloomingdale Fire Department were able to reach the deer, pulling it back to land as the officers shimmied on their stomachs.
