Kinnelon Residents: Do You Want Your Own ZIP Code?

Fill out this official survey to let the town know what you think.

KINNELON, NJ— For the fourth time, officials in Kinnelon are trying to get something most towns take for granted: their own ZIP code.

Kinnelon currently shares its ZIP code with Butler, and residents say packages, and even first responders, frequently go to the wrong location because of overlapping addresses.

In a survey posted to Kinnelon's website, township officials are asking residents how the overlapping ZIP codes affect them. The short survey asks questions about how often different types of mail gets sent to the wrong place, and if residents have ever had problems with emergency services.

Kinnelon has a population of 10,400 and Butler's is just over 7,600. Butler is home to the local post office, and Kinnelon does not have one, which is why they currently share. A post office is not part of the request for a new ZIP code.
