Kinnelon Schools Getting New Smart Displays, AC Upgrades This Summer

KINNELON, NJ — The Kinnelon Board of Education discussed summer building projects and a non-resident tuition policy at its Tuesday meeting, with district administration outlining plans to upgrade classroom technology at Pearl R. Miller Middle School.

While several larger capital projects are planned at Kinnelon High School this summer, the administration noted that the middle school has also been a focus of recent investment. Over the past year, air conditioning was added to portions of the Pearl R. Miller building.

This summer, the district will begin replacing the building's interactive whiteboards, which the administration described as significantly outdated, with Samsung interactive touchscreen displays.

Officials said the middle school has the greatest technology needs in the district, and the upgrades are expected to improve both classroom instruction and reliability.

The board also reviewed the district's annual non-resident tuition rate approval process, which governs students attending Kinnelon schools through approved non-resident arrangements. Administration said the process ensures transparency and compliance with state requirements.
