Police: Man Attempts to Headbutt Cop During Arrest

Police said man was found to be intoxicated and disorderly.

Police said a 54-year-old man attempted to strike an officer with his head and bumped the officer with his stomach before being arrested at the Treetop Court apartment complex on Tuesday.

were at the complex at 11:20 p.m. when Sgt. Ronald Frost had a confrontation with David Bell. Police said that while speaking with Bell, they noticed him to allegedly be disorderly and intoxicated.

Police said Bell then initiated physical contact by bumping Sgt. Frost with his stomach and then brought his head back in what Sgt. Frost described as an attempt to use his head to strike the officer. Sgt. Frost was able to avoid being struck, police said.

Another officer, Sgt. Robert Ressland, arrived at the scene and Bell was arrested and transported to the Bloomingdale police station. He was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and unable to post bail and was sent to the Passaic County jail.

In other arrests, Khaldoun Abudayyeh, 38, of Bloomingdale, was arrested on a warrant out of the Township of Little Falls Wednesday. Police did not provide information on the arrest, although Abudayyeh was processed and transported to the Little Falls Police Department.
