Moms Form New Running Club
Group gives mothers of all ages a chance to socialize, exercise, and support each other.

Often, between taking the kids to school, going shopping, and doing errands, moms often run around taking care of their families.
Now, some mothers are running around for another reason.
A group of local moms have formed the Morris County chapter of Moms Run This Town. The national organization brings busy mothers together to go running and walking as a way of staying active and socializing with moms. It was founded five years ago. The Morris chapter was founded about a month ago.

“It’s a missing niche I think. Running has become more popular recently,” said Christie McNamara, the group’s founder and mother of a 4- and 2-year-old. “There are a lot more specialized races out there now. I just think this came about at the right time.”
Members can get together and run or walk as often as they like.

“Right now we have members between 20 and 50 years old,” McNamara said. “We’re here for anybody who wants to get out and get fit and have some comrade with other mothers and support each other. That’s what really matters.”
