A former New Jersey Correctional Facility officer has been sentenced to seven years in prison for assaulting his girlfriend in 2011, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp announced. Steven Adrianzen, 41, of Franklin, who pleaded guilty on March 6 to third degree aggravated assault and third degree witness tampering was given a seven-year sentence in state prison Friday by Judge Stuart Minkowitz, Knapp said. On March 6, 2011, Adrianzen assaulted his then girlfriend by hitting her multiple times in the face, leading to facial fractures, Knapp said. The altercation took place in Pequannock Township. Adrianzen was arrested and as a condition of his bail, he was ordered not to contact the victim. According to Knapp, Adrianzen violated those terms and repeatedly contacted the victim between the time of his arrest and Dec. 31, 2011, and pressured her to tell authorities her injuries were sustained in a motor vehicle crash. Adrianzen did this so he would not lose his job, Knapp said. Prior to Friday's sentencing, Adrianzen was terminated from his employment as an Officer at Mountain View Correctional Facility.
