Pieter Prall Artist/Naturalist/Author Shows Lithograph Prints and Drawings at Mara's Cafe in Denville

Nationally recognized artist, naturalist and author Pieter Prall is showing a small selection of his lithograhic prints and drawings of birds at Mara's Cafe in Denville thorugh January 8th. Prall acheived national recognition when his popular guide for beginning birdwatchers was released. He did this book in partnership with John Bull (author of many valued ornithological works including the NYT Bestseller - The Audubon Society Guide to the Birds of North America) and Gerald Gold (the former managinf editor of The New York Times Magazine).

He has shown his work extensively throughout the US and Canada and has had important exhibits in the local area including: One Man Exhibition at The Newark Museum; inclusion in prnt exhibits in conjunction with the world renowned Newark Library Print Collection; a New York City Audubon Society Special Exhibit at W.Graham Arader III Print Gallery in Manhattan; a New York City Audubon Society Benefit Exhibit of lithographs at John Szoke Graphics Gallery in Soho, Manhattan; managing, curating and showing in an exhibit of the top bird illustrators in the US at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden Gallery ... and others.

Ptall is also noted for his activities associated with land conservation and is among the group of iindividuals whom have spent the last thirty contributing their time to save what is left of New Jersey's Natural areas. he is noted as cofounder of The Highlands Conservation Initiative and is the originator of the unique partnership plan that contributed to the preservation of the thousands of acres saved in Norther Morris County over the past thiry years ... Wildcat Ridge ... Beaver Brook Valley in Rockawat Township and Denville ... Buck Mountain in Kinnelon and other important tracts.

The exhibit at Mara's is open for viewing any time Mara's is open .... seven days a week from roughly 8am to 10pm.

Prall will be present there to chat with folks from 3pm to 7pm Saturdays and Sundays for the duration.
