Riverdale Man Killed In Early Morning SUV Crash

The 62-year-old man was employed by a company doing road work in the area, police said.

RIVERDALE, NJ — A 62-year-old Riverdale man was killed this morning after he was struck by an SUV while crossing Route 1 in Edison.

Edison police said the man was crossing in a crosswalk near Forest Haven Boulevard when he was struck by an SUV around 4:40 a.m on Friday. The man was employed by Statewide Striping Corp., of Parsippany, a state contractor painting markings on a freshly paved section of Route 1.

The driver, a 52-year-old Morrisville, Pennsylvania man, has not been charged, but police said the investigation is ongoing.

Police did not release either man's identity.
