Riverdale Police Car Struck on 287

The car was on the shoulder helping a disabled truck when it was hit.

RIVERDALE, NJ— A Riverdale Police car was struck on Route 287 while assisting a broken down truck, police said in a statement.

Police were helping a tow truck pick up a disabled truck on the shoulder of Route 287 Wednesday night. A car swerved and struck the police car, forcing it into the tow truck.

No one was injured. The driver of the other car was taken into custody by State Police, Riverdale Police said.
