Shotgun, Meth Uncovered During Argument: Bloomingdale Police

The Arizona man was arrested and taken to jail.

BLOOMINGDALE, NJ — An illegally modified shotgun and meth were found after Bloomingdale police responded to a dispute Thursday night, police said.

Police responded to Avalon Way around 2:30 p.m. for a dispute. When talking to Andrew Zavarella, 30, of Gilbert, Arizona, police found he had an illegally modified shotgun in his car. Police also found meth and items used to ingest meth.

Zavarella was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, possession of controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

He was taken to the Passaic County jail and his car was impounded.
