Testone Makes 'Idol' Top-10, Plans Tour This Summer

Kinnelon native remains alive, despite finishing in the bottom three in viewer voting.

For the second week in a row, has survived a brush with elimination after making it past being one of the bottom three contestants on "American Idol" and into the top-10.

Before the judges announced who would potentially be eliminated, Host Ryan Seacrest told viewers that the top-10 contestants would be performing on tour this summer. Minutes later, he announced that Testone was among three contestants who received the least number of votes from viewers after performing "Let's Stay Together" on Wednesday night's episode.

Judges were not pleased with viewers' decision.

"I'm not happy with the bottom three, especially after someone has a performance like Elise had last night," Judge Jennifer Lopez said.

But Seacrest then announced that Testone was safe.

While the competition will move ahead with 10 contestants next week, 11 contestants could have remained had the competition's other New Jersey contestant, Jermaine Jones, not been eliminated Wednesday night for concealing prior arrests and active warrants. Jones, a Pine Hill native, was arrested by Gloucester Township Police on two occasions in 2011.

Testone, a 2001 graduate, is now the only contestant left representing the state, although she currently resides in South Carolina.
