
Hamburg Turnpike, between Decker Road and Maple Lake Road, remains closed Wednesday as Verizon continues ongoing repairs from a train accident Monday where the NY Susquehanna train struck low-hanging wires on the train tracks.
Butler Police Capt. Ciro Chimento said Wednesday morning the road remains closed but will possibly open Wednesday evening.
"Until such time, motorists are still urged to utilize an alternate roadway," he said.

Detours are available by taking Decker Road to Kiel Road or Maple Lake Road to Kiel Road for the residents who live on Maple Lake.
closed Park Place and part of Main Street Monday morning after the accident caused the arms of the railroad crossing indicators to remain locked in lowered position. Power outages were also reported but have since been repaired.

Chimento said the electrical malfunction ocurred at about 10:30 a.m. Monday and the gates were closed until the railroad personnel attended to the situation. In addition to railroad personnel, repair crews from Cablevision, Verizon and Butler Electric responded.
Chimento said no injuries were reported in the accident.
