The boy's uncle was in the passenger's seat under the influence of marijuana, police say.

A 15-year-old Wayne boy was caught driving 40 miles per hour over the speed limit on 287 in Riverdale with his uncle — who was under the influence of marijuana, police said.

Riverdale Patrolman Mike Reilly stopped a white Dodge pickup on Route 287 North for going 103 miles an hour in a 65-mile-per-hour zone at 8:46 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

The 15-year-old told police he was taking his diabetic uncle, Ricardo Baez, to the hospital; an ambulance was called to the scene, but Baez refused medical attention, police said.
