Wayne Man Stole Money, Jewelry from Kinnelon Homes, Prosecutor Says

Michael LaBorda IV charged with burglary, heroin possession after arrest last week.

A Wayne man has been arrested and accused of burglarizing several homes in Kinnelon over the past few weeks, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp announced.

Kinnelon Police, in conjunction with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Pequannock Police Department, Wayne Police Department, Bloomingdale Police Department and Oakland Police Department arrested and charged Michael LaBorda IV, 25, of Wayne on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 1:15 p.m., Knapp said.

LaBorda is accused of committing several burglaries in the East Lake and Fayson Lakes sections of Kinnelon over the past several weeks, Knapp said.

LaBorda allegedly entered several homes through rear doors and windows of the burglarized homes, Knapp said, stealing money and jewelry.

The accused was charged with “several counts” of burglary, theft, criminal mischief and receiving stolen property. LaBorda was also charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia by the Wayne Police Department.

LaBorda was lodged in Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 bail with no 10-percent option.
